What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Accountant position at Nicolia?
Job Summary:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant state/local, and federal tax laws and regulations.
- Accurately prepares and files all tax documents.
- Maintain tax calendar for all filing responsibilities to ensure timely filing.
- Research and respond to state/local, federal tax authorities to resolve tax issues.
- Monitor tax law changes and business activity.
- Participate in development and implementation of tax strategy.
- Complete monthly compliance reports and reconciliations.
- Recommend alternative tax treatments to alleviate or reduce tax burden.
- Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
- Maintains the general ledger and assists with general accounting
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
- Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from bank
- Maintain tax depreciation for fixed assets.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
