What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planner position at NIFCO?

Job Summary

Ensure the ordering and delivery of production materials to ensure that no interruptions occur and that the production schedule is optimized. Ensure that days on hand target levels are met and maintained

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor raw material, purchased components, and packaging inventory levels to proactively plan requirements
  • Ensure target inventory level are met and maintained
  • Create purchase orders or purchase order releases to ensure no production interruptions occur
  • Communicate with suppliers on a frequent basis on order requirements
  • Monitor & track inventory levels on parts slated for build out and ensure suppliers are notified of build out. Ensure information has been forwarded to the appropriate people in order to submit a claim for compensation with our customers
  • Participate in cost reduction opportunities on specific raw material, purchased components, and packaging as requested
  • Perform cycle counts in accordance with Nifco procedures.
  • Order and maintained office supplies
  • Send bi-weekly forecast to molders
  • Issue purchase orders for projects and MRO items, confirm price and delivery
  • Help monitor overdue receipts report and work with receiving, requestors, and accounting to resolve receiving invoice issues
  • Participate in semi-annual physical inventory.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and expectations.
  • Behave in a manner that enhances the success of the Department and Company.
  • Other Management assigned task as required

Education:

  • High School or GED

Experience/Skills/Requirements:

  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet stringent deadlines
  • Must be productive in a team environment
  • Must be proficient enough on the computer software to successfully execute essential functions: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Oracle.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to work with information and issues that require a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Positive attitude to continued learning.
  • Must have the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds on a consistent basis
  • Must be able to work in an office environment for long periods of time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred)
