Overview
Nikola is looking for an experienced Manager, Sales Strategy and Enablement to join Nikola’s Sales Operations organization. The Sales strategist is responsible for developing sales strategies and tactics to help sell our zero emission Battery Electric and Fuel Cell Electric vehicles. We are looking for someone with a proven track record and demonstrated ability in using sales insights and data analytics to derive actionable strategies and tactics. Your insights and understanding of the fit of our will make a tremendous difference in our quest to decarbonize the transportation industry for generations to come!
The ideal candidate will have a passion for cultivating mutually beneficial relationships with customers and our dealer network, clean transportation, and managing complex sales transactions. You bring extensive experience in using, and ideally in developing and customizing, MS Dynamics 365 or other CRM tools. Experience in heavy duty and/or commercial vehicles is appreciated, but not required. Ideally, you will be familiar with a typical start-up environment complimented by experience working within larger companies as it relates to process and planning.
Responsibilities
The Sales Operations team is organized around sales strategy and tactics, sales administration and performance, and sales enablement. The Manager, Sales strategy and Enablement plays a critical role in the success of Nikola’s sales organization. You capture and analyze data to identify patterns and propose actionable strategies to the Director of Sales Operations. As an emerging Subject Matter Expert you provide sales training and support to the Field sales team.
YOU WILL:
· Lead the cross-functional collaboration across our Commercial, Energy and Finance groups to successfully launch the Nikola Tre FCEV with optimized Fueling Asset utilization
· Act as the primary liaison for our Dealer Enablement Lead and the regional Sales Managers to develop effective Dealer programs, onboard new Dealers, and improve Dealer business culture, efficiency and effectiveness. Author business processes and project manage regular workshops with Dealerships across North America
· Develop specific short-term sales initiatives and lead long-term corporate sales strategy in close collaboration with Finance, Product Management and other teams
· Offer strategic advisory and consultative selling support for sales team
· Collaborate with our Sales Leads to develop specific business plans for strategic accounts based on their unique needs and goals, including the drafting of contracts and service level agreements
· Establish and oversee advanced sales insights and analytics including regular reporting of the most critical KPIs and sales metrics to management
· Drive continuous improvement and optimize utilization of a customized CRM (MS Dynamics) and the integration of Apps and Tools as required
· Continuously evaluate and optimize our sales process, technology and methodolog
Qualifications
YOU HAVE:
· University degree in business, engineering, or related field, plus 8 years of demonstrated applicable work experience
· Extensive experience with MS Dynamics 365 or similar CRM tools is mandatory. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in daily use of both tools, act as a key user for other team members, and lead continuous system improvement efforts with IT.
· Experience in a Commercial Vehicle sales or other Dealer Distribution network environment are a plus. Experience in sustainability and particularly alternative fuels are assets · Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools like Excel, PowerBI and Tableau to build and maintain dashboards. SQL skills are a big plus, exposure to Python or other programming experience is a big plus.
· Strong financial acumen to understand key financial indicators and broad finance instruments including business plans, TCO models, and supply contracts, as they pertain to customers
· Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written, including the ability to plan, organize and deliver professional formal presentations
· Proven track record of excellent customer service skills and management capacity for large complex projects
· Demonstrated ability to establish effective, ethical working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
· Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to identify and develop new ideas and initiatives, able to turn ideas into practical working systems and procedures, creative and hands-on mentality
Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada. This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
