Position Overview:
As the Front of House Manager, you will play a pivotal role by overseeing all aspects of the restaurant’s FOH operations and thus ensuring a seamless and memorable dining experience for our guests. This position requires strong leadership skills, managing staff, controlling costs, implementing policies, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to maintain a positive and efficient front-of-house operation.
The FOH Manager will report directly to the CEO
Key Responsibilities:
1.Guest Experience:
-Ensure an outstanding and welcoming experience for all guests.
-Respond promptly to guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback, resolving issues with a focus on guest satisfaction.
2. Team Leadership:
-Recruit, train, and supervise front-of-house staff, including cashiers, baristas and bartenders.
-Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and a customer-centric mindset.
3. Operational Leadership:
-Oversee day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including opening and closing procedures
-Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure smooth functioning
-Creating standard operating procedures for all aspects of the FOH
4. Service Excellence:
-Implement and maintain high standards of service, ensuring consistency in quality and efficiency.
-Address customer concerns and feedback promptly and professionally
-Conduct regular staff training on service protocols, menu knowledge, and upselling techniques.
5. Scheduling and Staffing:
-Create training manuals for all positions of the FOH
-Recruit, train, and supervise staff members
-Create and manage front-of-house staff schedules, considering peak dining hours and special events.
-Set performance expectations and provide regular feedback
-Provide ongoing training for staff to enhance skills and knowledge
-Foster a positive and inclusive work environment
-Identify and develop high-potential employees for career advancement.
-Monitor staffing levels to optimize guest service and operational efficiency.
6.Financial Management:
-Develop and manage budgets, including revenue and expense forecasting
-Monitor financial performance and implement cost control measures
-Ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines
-Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to achieve revenue targets.
7. Marketing and Promotions:
-Manager will play a pivotal PR role as the face of the operation and the direct representative of Ownership.
-Collaborate with the Director of Catering and Events to develop and execute marketing strategies to attract customers
-Plan and implement promotional events and activities to boost sales
-Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective advertising campaigns
8.Inventory and Supplies:
-Oversee the management of front-of-house inventory, including dining utensils, glassware, and condiments.
-Coordinate with suppliers to ensure an adequate supply of front-of-house essentials.
9. POS Operations:
-Monitor and manage the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, troubleshooting any technical issues.
-Provide training to staff on POS operations, ensuring accurate order processing and payment handling.
10. Upkeep of Dining Area:
-Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and decorative elements.
-Collaborate with the cleaning staff to maintain high hygiene standards.
- Oversee general Repair & Maintenance agreements and schedules
11. Collaboration with Kitchen:
-Foster effective communication and collaboration between front-of-house and kitchen staff.
-Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
12. Quality assurance:
- Ensure that food & beverages quality and presentation meet established standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and adherence to health and safety regulations
- Implement quality control measures of food, beverages, and service.
Qualifications:
-Proven experience as a Front of House Manager or in a similar leadership role in the restaurant industry.
-Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
-Knowledge of restaurant operations, including food preparation, service, and financial management.
-Knowledge of hospitality industry trends and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
-Excellent communication and customer service abilities
-Understanding of health and safety regulations
-Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant operations.
-Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
-Food Handlers Certificate
