Job Description
Now, we're looking for a Head of Business Planning & Strategy to join our broader Finance, Insights, BD and Strategy team, in a hands-on leadership role that is critical to our future growth and success.
Reporting directly to the CFO and Director of Strategy, this role will lead a team of two direct reports and partner with all areas of the business, including Content Acquisitions, Original Productions, Sport, Marketing, Technology, Product and Business Development. You will be responsible for the development of annual budgets and long-term plans for relevant stakeholders, analysing current business performance, developing business cases for important commercial opportunities and contributing to overall department and corporate strategy formation.
As the Head of Business Planning & Strategy, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Leadership and mentoring of the Business Planning & Strategy team
- Annual budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning including scenario analysis
- Analysis of business performance vs budget and forecast
- Development and monitoring of KPIs aligned to budgets/forecasts for departmental operating plans
- Identification of trends, opportunities and risks in the market and industry
- Collaboration with senior leaders to identify and evaluate business improvement and growth opportunities
- Business case modelling and financial analysis
- Departmental and Corporate Strategy development (and implementation as appropriate)
- Preparation of management and board presentations
- Supporting the Head of Finance during month-end, year-end and audit processes
- Other special projects as required
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business or another related field
- 10 years’ experience in strategy consulting and/or investment banking, preferably including in-house experience derived within a corporate strategy, FP&A and/or M&A team
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- Well developed business acumen and strategic thinking ability
- Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills, with the ability to distil complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
- Excellent financial modelling skills (including demonstrated proficiency in Excel) and presentation skills (including proficiency in Powerpoint, Google Slides and/or Keynote)
- Project management expertise
- Exceptional time management skills, ability to multi-task and eye for detail
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
