What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Officer position at NINOS INC?
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years of age- Must have no criminal record or criminal charges pending
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with liability insurance
- Must be able to speak, read and write English
- Must have or be willing to obtain First Aide/CPR certification
- Must have a clear TB and physical examination before first day of employment
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must have computer skills Microsoft Windows environment and Office suite
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have a Bachelor's Degree or 3 years' experience in related field
- Be Bilingual able or willing to learn to speak, read and write English and Spanish
- Be a local resident of Cameron or Willacy County
- Be a person sensitive to the needs of the poor and disadvantaged
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meets the guide lines in accordance to Head Start Performance Standards and the State of Texas Licensing Minimum Standards of all the agency's facilities- Inspects the structure of buildings and determines if repairs are needed
- Allocates classroom space and creates floor plans for centers
- Supervises renovations and additions
- Oversees grounds keeping
- Submits monthly status reports of pending projects
- Assists in the formulation of the NINOS, Inc. Head Start refunding application
- Allocates parking spaces and decals
- Responsible for transporting, disposing of, or relocating office equipment and furniture
- Evaluates and adjusts energy expenditures by installing greener appliances and fixtures to reduce energy output and educating and establishing procedures how to reduce energy usage
- Maintains vendor relationships
- Performs facilities and equipment obsolescent planning, budgeting and replacement
- Performs environmental hazard management/planning and remediation
- Ensures roofs and elevators have updated inspections
- Plans and implements annual on-site review of all Head Start centers
- Develops and maintains the emergency preparedness plans for all Head Start centers
- Trains staff on safety and emergency preparedness
- Attends the Head Start/Early Board of Director's/Policy Council meetings upon request by the Executive/Head Start Director
- Supports the efforts of Head Start families in the enhancement of their children's healthy wellbeing and academic success
- Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor relative to program operations
- Works on weekends, holidays, and/or evenings on especial assigned projects and/or tasks on request of the Executive/Head Start Director
