Job Summary
- Manages the NiSource Major Projects and Indiana TDSIC Program Project Controls Cost Staff.
- Provides integrated project controls management to the Major Projects Organization. Seamlessly integrate project controls methodology, staff, processes, tools, techniques, and information management systems to provide daily support to the Project Managers, Project Developers, Project Engineers, Project Technical Specialists, Construction Managers, and Major Project's Management. Directly responsible to ensure optimum project controls staff support of individual projects.
- Leads and Directs Performance Area Capability in Project Initiation, Project Planning and Project Controls; Competent and facilitating support for Project Execution and Project Close-Out and Transition
- Develops, applies, and advances Project Management and Project Controls capability and competence using industry standards (AACE, PMI, Construction Management Industry, etc.) and best practice application to integrate knowledge areas for optimum project delivery application
- Leads and directs project team members in regard to project cost controls. Objectifies drives, applies subject matter expertise, directs and leads Project Controls Resources Conflict Management, Coaches, Team Builds, Motivates, Inspires, Program Manages Major Project's resources. Demands, promotes, and inspires leadership; leads in 360 degree management cycle. Day to day management of Project Controls Cost Staff.
- Project Control Cost Tool and Information System Subject Matter Expert
- Optimizes, leads, empowers, accountable for all Project Controls Scheduling Performance
- Portfolio-manages Project Controls Cost resources
- Facilitates leadership and development of Cost resources
- Accountable for Project Controls Cost Staff
- Manages reporting of project EAC status, performance through KPI metrics and Executive reporting
- Manages Project Cost processes and best practices
Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Competent in the product life cycle including project development, engineering, construction, testing, turnover and operations support. Ensures scope planning, requirements management, and scope definition. Deployment of optimum WBS and Cost Account management methodology to establish integrated product and project baseline development, and integrated scope change control methods. Performs life cycle project change control to prevent quality degradation and scope creep.
- Manages reporting the effect on EAC of identified project risks
- Provides project controls subject matter expertise support for Contract Project Control/Commercial Components
- Manages core project controls cost expertise:
- Responsible for the utilization of project management guidelines, project management standards, processes, job aids, and tools
- Manages all project management subsidiary systems to improve project performance
- Manages project cost effort
- Manages cost management tools/techniques to advance cost performance
- Manages correlation of project execution costs to original cost estimates
- Manages and integrates the project budgets and cost performance baselines
- Responsible for Project Cost Accounting
- Manages project cost assessment processes, tools, and techniques
- Manages project cost analysis processes, tools and techniques
- Manages cost control processes, tools, and techniques
- Manages project cost reporting
- Manages project continuous life cycle planning and cost processes with progressive risk management forecasting with increased predictability, accuracy and precision.
- Manages the integrated cost/schedule performance baselines
- Manages project cost performance reporting and identifies opportunities to avoid or mitigate negative cost variances
- Manage project controls effort in regard to project initiation, project planning-project management plan, project control subsidiary plans, project execution and project controls plans, and baseline change control
- Accountable for safety and environmental performance for project control staff (internal and external)
Required Qualifications for Position
- Bachelor’s Degree plus six years project controls experience or Ten years project controls industry experience
- Core Project Controls Cost Tool and Information System Subject Matter Expert
- Develops, integrates, tailors, manages
- Influences, negotiates, team builds, integrates, applies political and cultural awareness; problem solves and collaborates
- Integrates and manages leadership; 360 degree
- All successful applicants will be required to pass the PMP PMI Project Management certification within either one year of their hire date or one year after the employee meets the necessary requirements to qualify for the examination.
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- PMP PMI Certification

Salary Range:
