Estimator - Laser Cutting & Metal Forming

Nitro Cutting offers cutting edge technology and automation in laser cutting, plasma cutting and forming. From machined parts to highly custom architectural designs, Nitro offers process and cost-efficiency across a range of industries. We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team.

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing estimates for metal fabrication parts & assemblies in response to customer RFQ’s. This position will ensure estimates are done on time; and if awarded, jobs are delivered on time and within budget while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Analyzes blueprints and other documentation to prepare equipment time, cost, materials and labor estimates for metal fabrication parts & assemblies.
• Assesses cost effectiveness of equipment and processes, tracking actual costs relative to bids.
• Consults with clients, vendors or personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Confers with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
• Prepares estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
• Reviews material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase component
• Follows job from estimate to invoicing, to ensure job ships on time.
• Prepares and maintains a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractor
• Updates documents such as Quote Logs, Job Schedules and Job Traveler Forms to ensure available data is up to date.
• Notifies customers when material is available for pick up. If delivering to customer, arrange trucking through internal resources. May require completion of necessary paperwork such as packing slips and bill of lading.
• Follows all company policies, procedures and safety rules. Conducts self at all times in a professional, ethical and courteous manner.

Education/Experience

· Three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
