At NJM Insurance Group (NJM), a top-rated insurance company, our General Claims department is looking for a Commercial Claims Specialist I candidate who has excellent communication skills as well as strong organizational and time management skills. This individual must be a creative & proactive problem solver, analytical, an independent contributor who can also work as a member of the team, decisive, "owns" the decisions they make, and the work produced, responsible, dependable, possesses a sense of humor.
We are looking for talent with a minimum of 1-5 years of claims experience in the insurance industry.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Hybrid: 3 days from home, 2 days in the office
Appropriately handle, settle and close Commercial Auto, BOP, and CGL claims by bringing a prompt and amicable resolution, this should include handling non-litigated and minor litigation property damage and bodily injury claims related
Verify coverage, open claims, contact parties involved
Verify and investigate information presented by first and third party claimants
Schedule appraisals or repair facilities, assess related damage
Contact witnesses, police departments, attorneys or other insurance companies
Claims are settled and negotiated based on company guidelines and applicable law
Property & Casualty Licensure is required
Commercial claims experience preferred
Customer service experience required
Bachelor’s degree is preferred
Disciplined self-starter with outstanding communication & customer service skills
Multi-tasking, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Technical aptitude, including a working knowledge with Microsoft Office
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to juggle multiple priorities and manage time effectively
Ability to think critically, use resources and seek answers
Some negotiation experience is beneficial
