Overview:
The Senior Director, Sales will professionally and ethically create, maintain and expand sales and provide continuing education and services to NJOY Sales teams and retail partners. You’ll use your skills in training, managing teams, and building/driving best practices to set up our team and key sales partners for success. All Director, Senior Director and VP level candidates with demonstrated experience highly encouraged to apply. Level is flexible depending on experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Take a hands on approach to build, lead and support NJOY’s sales team and third party partner sales team from the ground up
- Create and drive sales strategies in an effort to expand NJOY’s distribution by prospecting, and successfully onboarding new retail partners that meet NJOY’s compliance requirements.
- Own the retail and third party partner sales cycles and deploy sales objectives through the preparation and measuring of sales quotas, budgeting, training and hiring.
- Leverage prospecting skills and relationships to build partnerships with key accounts, increase sales volume, and grow category market share in line with assigned pipeline quota
- Maintain and update current and prospective target retailer profiles.
- Achieve and consistently exceed monthly and quarterly targets and regularly report on all opportunity details, call activity, sample activity and expense reports.
- Keep current with market knowledge and competitor products to effectively communicate the value proposition of a partnership with NJOY.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal key stakeholders (talent, strategic account management, accounting, finance, data, sales, and marketing) and external stakeholders to successfully launch new programs to responsibly expand sales
- Negotiate, execute, and renew agreements, and monitor and enforce adherence to agreements
- Leverage data to create and provide informed actions plans to improve key metrics
- Lead the sales team that you’re building and create a positive culture with minimal turnover
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience in a consumer product sales team.
- Minimum of 6 years of sales leadership experience
- Minimum of 6 years experience leading negotiations and reviewing contracts
- Experience scaling sales teams at a high growth company
- Superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple fast-moving initiatives / projects across numerous teams, departments, geographies, etc.
- A data literate with the ability to turn complex, disparate datasets into insights that drive directions and actions for the team and sales targets.
- Immense attention to detail, persistence, and focus.
- Strong PowerPoint, Excel skills, and Salesforce (or other CRM)
- Proven experience with developing processes (commission structures, sales onboarding, KPIs,etc), and executing on sales strategies to promote long term success
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of work experience at a large tobacco or e-cig manufacturer is preferred.
- Comfort working with remote teams
