Job Summary:
The Technical Lead will have focused responsibility for at least one area of technology to maintain quality, efficiency, profitability, and service. The Technical Lead will work with R&D, Supervisors, and laboratory staff in assigned areas to make recommendations on best practices regarding performance of methods, use and maintenance of instrumentation, and troubleshooting methodologies. The Technical Lead will serve as a liaison between R&D, engineers, and laboratorians, effectively triaging escalations for method and instrument troubleshooting.
Requirements:
- Bachelors or master’s degree in Medical Technology, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science.
- Required clinical experience is dependent upon degree. Clinical experience refers to hospital or reference laboratory, testing human samples only.
- PhD 1 years clinical experience
- MS 3 years clinical experience
- BS 5 years clinical experience
- Demonstrated ability to perform method improvement and/or method troubleshooting in a regulated laboratory setting.
- Hands-on experience in operations, advanced chromatographic separation science, spectroscopy analysis, and/or other analytical techniques. Must have experience with at least one of the following: Sciex/Shimadzu LCMSMS systems.

- Minimum of 22 semester credit hours in college-level chemistry coursework including coursework and labs:
- General Chemistry I & II (8 credits)
- Organic Chemistry I & II (8 credits)
- Two, 3-semester hr courses from the following possibilities: Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Informatics, Instrumental Analysis, Mass Spectrometry, Quantitative Analysis, Separation Science, Spectroscopic Analysis, Biochemistry, Drug Metabolism, Forensic Toxicology, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, Physiology, Toxicology
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Triage, troubleshoot and investigate challenges associated with approved laboratory testing.
- Strong collaboration with fellow analytical and engineering colleagues as well as cross-functional partners to ensure remediation, long-term resolve and implementation of best practices.
- Monitor quality control patterns, as well as internal and external proficiency testing performance; participate in corrective and preventive action investigations, as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Understand basic elements for teamwork interpersonal skills
- Possesses oral and written communication skills, and good computer skills (including use of word processors, spreadsheets and data analysis software).
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret and present complex technical data, procedures, and instructions in verbal, written, mathematical or diagrammatical form.
Physical Demands:
- Vision (with correction) including color, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Standing, reaching with hands and arms, and using hands and fingers to manipulate instrument or equipment controls, computer keyboard, office equipment, objects or tools
- Movement from one work location to another
- Sitting and standing, sometimes for extended periods of time
- Lifting objects up to 20 lbs.
- Exposure to intermittent or constant sounds generated by equipment
- Exposure to fumes, noxious odors and dust
- Handling of biological material and blood-borne pathogens
