The team you'll be part of
Nokia Bell Labs is the world-renowned research arm of Nokia, having invented many of the foundational technologies that underpin information and communications networks and all digital devices and systems. This research has produced nine Nobel Prizes, five Turing Awards and numerous other awards.
What you will learn and contribute to
The role is to research optical technologies supporting communication and with an aspiration for fundamental and disruptive innovation. The role also offer oppertunities on working with Nokia businesses and solving product challenges. The position will report to the department head of Opto-Electronic Subsystems. Areas of interest are (but not limited to) optical fiber transmission, digital signal processing, machine learning for fiber-optic communication systems, modulation and coding, etc. Research in optical transmission at Bell Labs has a 50 year history of fundamental breakthroughs including Nobel Prizes and a steady delivery of innovations to the business unit.
Your skills and experience
- Ph.D Degree or equivalent in relevant technical area
- Demonstrated significant research innovation/results through journal papers and/or industry recognition
- Language fluency in English, both oral and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent presentation skills
