Position Overview: The Equipment Installer is responsible for installation, service, and repair of the following types of equipment: Refrigeration equipment, ice-making and dispensing, cold storage to include walk in coolers/freezers, display and merchandising and other equipment in the commercial industry, cold and hot beverage systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times.
- Basic troubleshooting and mechanical ability.
- Follow direction and instruction of Supervisors.
- Basic, knowledge in the functions and operations associated with beverage, ice making, water filtration, hot food, and display equipment.
- Basic diagnostics and repair of beverage, ice making, water filtration, hot food, and display equipment.
- Has familiarity with power tools.
- Determined to produce quality and clean work.
- Be able to learn the basics of install work: setting equipment in place, leveling equipment, assembling metro racks and gondolas.
- Understand and learn install team’s best practices, unloading/loading of trucks, jobsite cleanup.
- Become familiar with the different style of customers and their expectations.
- Order, ship and receive parts as needed and properly complete paperwork as it pertains to installation and repair equipment.
- Handle basic plumbing and electrical hook-ups as necessary.
- Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem area.
- Inspect and assess parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
- Removes and replaces worn or defective parts.
- Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair.
- On call rotation required.
- General
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, co-workers, and management.

- Regular and Punctual Attendance.
- Intermediate Installation of beverage, ice making, water filtration, hot food and display equipment.
- Basic theory and operation of refrigeration systems.
- Intermediate diagnostics and repair of beverage, ice making, water filtration, hot food, and display equipment.
- Skilled with power tools.
- Basic diagnostics and repair of refrigeration systems.
- Competent in brazing and soldering.
- Competent Installation of beverage, ice making, water filtration, hot food and display equipment.
- Handle plumbing and electrical hook-ups as necessary.
- EPA Certification Type 1 Required.
- Highly skilled with power tools.
- Competent in the Installation, repair and maintenance of refrigeration equipment and component to include walk-in boxes, under counter units, reach-ins and ice making equipment.
- EPA Certification required (Type 1 and 2; Universal preferred).
- Ability to run a project from start to finish.
- Ability to read blue prints.
- Competency and attainment determined by job performance.
- Strong ability to work unsupervised.
- Advanced diagnostics and repair of beverage, ice making, water filtration, hot food, cold storage (refrigeration) and display equipment.
- Assist with training Service Technicians.
- Sets an example for the rest of the team members.
- Dedicated to producing high quality and clean work.
- Highly skilled in refrigeration installation projects.

Education and/or Experience:
- One year certificate from college or technical school, three to six months related experience and/or training -or- equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Construction/Installation background preferred.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
Language Skills: English proficiency required. Spanish is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Amount of Travel Involved: Up to 95%.
