About the Role
As a Field Service Technician and under general direction of the technical service manager, this position is primarily responsible for the installation, training, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Norden machinery.
Main responsibilities include and are not limited to :
- Proficient to perform field service for tube filling machines in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry with working electrical and mechanical machine knowledge
- Travel throughout the US & South America of up to 80% per year
- Start-up, repair and upgrading of machines in customer plants. Perform contracted or periodic maintenance of machines.
- Training of customer personnel to properly operate and maintain machines
- Attainment of a working knowledge of all assigned equipment in the field
- Dependable and able to work independently and unsupervised
- Assists customer and Sales Department in ordering replacement parts and sees that they are
- ordered properly
- Communicates with support staff and engineers in the US, Sweden and France
- Keeps in contact with customers to maintain their confidence in equipment and service
- Creates and submits service reports, expense reports, daily time sheets, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Service Manager or as circumstances require
- Reports customer accidents and any unsafe conditions to customer and internal management
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office and ability to learn other proprietary programs
What You Need to Be Successful
- 2-year college level technical training in mechanical and electrical technology or
- equivalent preferred
- A minimum of two years relevant experience preferred
- PLC experience is a plus but not required
- Technical hands-on experience and skills for packaging equipment.
- Makes arrangements for travel requirements. Extensive travel required.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office and ability to learn other proprietary programs
- Required to possess or acquire a passport and the capability to travel internationally.
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 80% of the year
