JOB OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for coordinating and directing site Production Operations to ensure seamless manufacturing of product. The scope of this role will include, but is not limited to: Manufacturing, Warehousing, Scheduling, Planning and Buying. Additionally, is responsible for and must have reasonable knowledge of manufacturing, purchasing, scheduling/planning, product/process development and engineering. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills and have the ability to drive efficiencies across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing production operations to meet growth and revenue objective for Nordent.
- Manage and control the operating cost and the effectiveness of these functions through mentoring, continuous improvement, cost reductions, automation and employee’s personal development.
- Understand and support new and existing customers’ needs by developing, maintaining and nurturing internal business partner relationships. This should be done through regular communication with internal customers and leadership by understanding performance indicators and the stated and perceived challenges/problems.
- Manage and direct the purchasing efforts to appropriately manage and measure vendors for quality, cost and on-time delivery of materials with the goal of ensuring production is not impeded by a lack of components and ultimately creating a competitive edge for Nordent and our customers.
- In this role, the ideal candidate will be able to direct purchasing by tailoring solutions to problems before they occur.
- Oversee planning to translation of customer demand to ‘End to End’ production plan with a goal of zero backorder, optimized inventory operation. Mapping of operation capacity, , lead time of process flows Lead optimization of demand vs. production planning system in collaboration with commercial partners.
- Establish and report on key metrics for the various areas of responsibility.
- Drive productivity, efficiencies, continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction opportunities across the site. Experience and focus should be in workflow, changeovers, scrap reduction, labor reporting, label management and recordkeeping.
- Develop and maintain a high standard for quality and safety across the site.
- Proactively support the sales team for quoting of new or existing opportunities.
- Ensure regulatory readiness for customers, notified bodies, ISO and audits. This includes compliance to all QMS / SOP policies, procedures and training being performed.
- Drive leadership through example.
- Direct all of the product and process validations for all current as well as new products.
- Create, implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for maintaining an effective Quality System within the operations umbrella.
- Provide personal development and training to all direct reports in the operations area of the company.
SUPERVISION:
Includes direct reports from each functional area of responsibility (i.e. Production, Scheduling/Planning and Purchasing)
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
Requires a minimum of 5 years of Management experience, preferably in manufacturing, operations and/or purchasing. Additionally, 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing organization.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management or a technical discipline is required.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic, high energy, hands-on management and solid leadership skills
- Solid background and experience in the manufacturing industry and regulated environments
· Should possess excellent communication/interpersonal and organizational skills
· Requires the ability to make sensible, risk based, determinations when making decisions related to company functions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
