What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager - Facilities Occupancy Planner - Seattle Campus position at Nordstrom?
The corporate facilities occupancy / space planner will take lead in the tactical execution of space planning & design revisions as reflected in our evolving corporate space planning strategy. This role will provide updated drawings, space layouts and scenario models for all corporate office areas utilizing CAD and other space planning programs. Responsible for managing projects that assist in organizing space, furniture and functions to work together and most effectively accommodate employee solutions in corporate offices, identifying space issues, and managing routine space planning projects. Responsible for day-to-day customer engagement and is SME on corporate space issues who will contribute to space planning policies and frameworks.
A day in the life…
1) Occupancy / Space Planning Initiatives
- Develop programming and space requirements in partnership with Program Manager
- Create move models, space planning scenarios, develop data analysis & reporting
- Create, update & modify stack plans in alignment with master building block plans and changing business unit requirements
- Implement appropriate health and safety guidelines to workspaces enabling ease of updates & future changes
- Update, revise and modify seating/floor plans and occupied spaces to reflect current and future occupancies in all corporate offices
2) Project Management and Oversight
- Request proposals and develop schedules for proposed and active space planning and move projects
- Manages and organizes projects to consolidate and reduce occupancy in leased spaces in alignment with corporate real estate strategy
- Lead and manage Return to Office space planning projects at remote sites
- Implements design standards for corporate signage and wayfinding. Performs planning, approves placement, manages installation and vendor schedules for such.
- Actively engages with employees on day-to-day space planning designs and models
- SME on workplace strategy implementation & programming
- Manages vendor contracts, schedules, and deliverables
- Monitor, respond, and update work progress in ticketing/Service Now system
- Key collaborator with corporate facilities and workplace planning teams to meet project goals and manage work loads
- Supports furniture inventory write-offs & asset management efforts
You’ve got this if…
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience directly related to occupancy, space planning and campus restacks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)
- Proficient in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and IWMS tools (iOffice)
- Ability to meet SLA requirements, deadlines, and prioritize workloads
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with corporate moves and small-scale (under $50k) construction & refurbishment projects
