Primary Purpose:
The Mechanical Training Coordinator is responsible for developing unique training courses and programs to provide continuing training and development for employees in the Mechanical Department. This position implements training and development programs in compliance with Norfolk Southern’s strategic objectives and requires communication with across all levels of the organization to determine training needs and implementation. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required as this position interfaces across all levels within our organization.
Principle duties:
- Create training and schedules for employee continuing education.
- Maintain record of programs/participants for assigned region.
- Audit training employee training compliance for assigned region to ensure FRA compliance.
- Coordinate training implementation with training gang leaders at shop facilities
- Proficient PowerPoint and Excel skills
Travel requirements:
- 5 days per month
Job Related Experience:
- Minimum Level: 3-5 years
- Preferred Level: 5-10 years

- Preferred level: High School Diploma or GED
