Description
The Culture Specialist will work with the school’s Dean of Students to create a positive, affirming and safe school culture.
Job Summary
Support the Dean of Students as the point person for discipline/culture issues
Supervise breakfast, lunch, transitions, enrichment, and dismissal
Hold all students to consistent expectations
Act as a resource to teachers in their instructional practice, especially as it relates to relationships with students, classroom management, and school culture
Assist teachers, students, and parents in the effective creation and implementation of individual behavior plans
Participate in home visits highlighting the responsibilities of parents, teachers, and students
Be highly present and visible during school hours
Model the school’s values and the standard for professional behavior
Maintain accurate student records, documenting all conferences and phone calls for behavior and attendance
Qualifications
Passion to improve the minds and lives of students in and out of the classroom
Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills with students, parents, colleagues, and community members
