Incorporated in 2011, North Wind Resource Consulting’s core capabilities include environmental documentation and permitting; natural and cultural resource surveys; wildlife and botanical expertise; National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) technical services; historic and prehistoric surveys; environmental consultation such as Section 106 for cultural resources, Section 404 for wetlands, and Section 7 for endangered species); and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and mapping capabilities. North Wind Resource Consulting maintains offices across the country.
Job Description
The Administrative Assistant is a mid-level position that will be providing clerical support for Biological, Environmental, and Cultural projects and performing functional tasks based out of the Tempe office. Aspects of the Administrative Assistant position include:
- Works well with project members and maintains a high level of communication regarding status of work products for which they are tasked.
- Provides technical and copy-edit review of biological, environmental, and cultural scientific documents.
- Already is and/or willing to become quickly familiar with State and Federal document requirements.
- Possess strong understanding of English grammar and document formatting.
- Maintains federal and state permits, including submission of new permits, updating existing permits, and reporting for end of year permit stipulations.
- Providing support in the organization and processing of documents for curation with State and Federal agencies and repositories for project closeout.
- Provides support with proposals, including organization and upkeep of staff resumes.
- Attending company wide and office staff meetings.
- Possess a clear understanding of and maintain North Wind safety awareness and practices.
- Participates in regular communication with North Wind Project Managers, Field Directors, and Line Supervisor.
- Participation in on-going North Wind trainings.
- Works with Office Manager in addressing office maintenance and restocking supplies.
- Transferring data from server to a SharePoint platform.
- Assists Field Directors with collection of field equipment and data in anticipation of fieldwork sessions, including help set up project related accommodations (i.e. car rentals, hotel reservations, etc.).
- Provides support of office vehicle fleet, such as oil changes, vehicle logs, transport pickup trucks to repair shops, and cleaning of vehicles.
- Ability to work in an office setting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English or equivalent discipline and one-year relevant experience as an administrative assistant or technical editor. The ideal candidate will have two years prior experience in an office setting.
- Demonstrates a strong comprehension of computer programs such as MS Office 365 Suite, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint.
- Possesses a strong work ethic with a developed and mature understanding of professionalism.
- Willingness and desire to learn as well as ask questions.
- Ability to follow written and oral instruction.
- Displays excellent communication and interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift boxes or equipment between 20 to 40 lbs and can place heavy items on warehouse shelves
- Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic office setting, and to consistently enact high performance standards and a strong work and team ethic in support of the goals and objectives of North Wind’s commitment to high quality.
- Must pass pre-employment background check.

- Must possess a valid driver’s license with all necessary endorsements.
