North Wind Site Services is focused on providing engineering, program management, environmental remediation services including investigation and characterization, environmental restoration, unexploded ordnance/military munitions response (MMRP), regulatory public involvement services, environmental compliance, logistics, and records and facility management.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide oversight to ensure proper implementation of safety plans and integrated work control documents.
- Continuously observe and evaluate the work sites for any hazards not previously identified or adequately controlled, initiate measures required to protect personnel, the public and the environment
- Stop work and take immediate action when needed to remove personnel from hazardous areas if the safety or health of personnel is jeopardized. Review and conduct appropriate follow-up on Incident Reports and notifications.
- Lead safety and pre-job briefings with workers in the field. Provide safety training to workers and site visitors.
- Ensure compliance with emergency response plans (including evacuation alarms, accountability rosters, and assembly points).
- Attend progress meetings with the Client. Represent North Wind in incident investigations and/or critiques scheduled by the Client.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s Degree (or equivalent) in safety engineering or industrial hygiene or an equivalent technical field
- At least three (3) years of full-time work experience in the field of environment, safety and health
- Must have Certified Associate Industrial Hygienist (CAIH) certification by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene, or Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Occupational Health Safety Technical (OHST) or Construction Health Safety Technician (CHST) certification by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals or equivalent nationally recognized organization, or eligible for certification.
- A minimum of 40 hours of formal environmental training in erosion control, waste management, or other environmental discipline, or pre-approved equivalent having other environment related training and/or job experience.
- Current training in CPR and First Aid.
- Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in environment, safety and health or a related area of discipline.

- Must pass pre-employment background check.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Must have REAL ID ACT compliant documentation at time of hire and nothing on record that would prohibit you from gaining access to Department of Energy sites.

The work is conducted both indoors and outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is normally mild to moderate. The employee will be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, machinery, and vehicles. The employee must be able to stand for long periods and walk across uneven terrain.
