What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasonographer Vaca Valley Per Diem position at Northbay?
Performs Ultrasound studies and insures correct processing and handling. Helps in other areas of radiology such as front desk, reception, etc. Insures proper equipment maintenance and cleanliness. Assists clerical staff when possible. Coordinates daily patient schedule for U/S. Attends seminars and in-services. Takes call and standby as needed. Promotes a cooperative and positive relationship with physicians and other hospital staff/departments.
- Performs ultrasound examinations in accordance to established protocols.
- Assists and instructs patients prior and during examinations.
- Responsible for evaluating each study to ensure it meets required quality standards.
- Responsible for patient confidentiality, safety and well being during examinations.
- Responsible for inspecting and cleaning equipment prior to use.
- Reports to ultrasound supervisor all equipment failures and/or malfunctions.
- Reports all patient complaints, discrepancies and drug reactions according to the QA policies.
- Responsible for sending images to PACS, organizing paper work and completing charge sheets.
- Works in other areas of the department such as reception, assisting transfer, transport, etc.
- Organizational standards for Joint Commission, Patient Safety and the Department of Heath will be met or exceeded
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from approved ultrasound course.
Licensure: RDMS or ARRT (Sonography) eligible. Must be registered within 12 months of hire. AHA or equivalent BLS certification.
Experience: Minimum two years hospital experience.
Skills: Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patient in the following age groups: Geriatric, Adult, Young Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal.

Hourly Salary Range Min $63.04 - Max $76.59 Offered hourly rate based on years of experience)
10% per diem differential
Night shift Differential : $8.79 per hour
Evening Shift Deferential: $5.58 per hour
Weekend: $1.40 per hour
Weekend and shift differentials
Salary : $6 - $77
