The primary responsibility of the Academic Video Production Specialist is to visually communicate learning content in a way that facilitates exceptional and engaging teaching and learning. This position creates, produces, directs, shoots, and edits instructional videos in collaboration with faculty subject matter experts.1. Provides project coordination (including creating, producing, directing, shooting and editing) of high-end, professional videos and multimedia projects for the Learning Team, under the direction of the Dean of Academic Technology.
  • Meets with faculty subject matter experts to determine video needs 
  • Maintains production schedules
  • Schedule and conduct filming necessary for productions
  • Works with appropriate members of the Academic Excellence team for dissemination of materials on the web or social media channels
2. Organizes video shooting schedule on a continual basis, and provides on-going contributions to curriculum video library.
3. Coordinates video camera operation, lighting, audio and editing for video productions associated with course instruction.
4. Maintains and updates video and audio software and hardware technologies.
5. Performs maintenance scheduling of video equipment.
6. Manages our Video management system (Panopto) as well as supports faculty using it.
7. Serves as the Learning Team’s on-staff photographer and photo editor as needed.
8. Ensures brand alignment of video marketing tactics.

  1. Associate’s Degree in video production, digital media, film, graphic arts or related field required.  
  2. Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in digital video/audio filming, production and editing.
  3. Demonstrated success in collaborating with stakeholders and editing video segments to meet messaging requirements.
  4. Creative, energetic personality with well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Experience with computer and editing software and video compression. 
  6. Knowledge of basic still photography, multimedia productions, professional video productions, lighting and graphic design.
  7. Exceptional eye for video production, photography, and visual communication.
  8. Ability to work within deadlines. 
  9. Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite. 
  10. Excellent organization, analytical and problem-solving skills.
In a full day work period, the number of consecutive hours normally spent doing the following activity:
Working Activity:
6 to 8 hours:  Performing repetitive movements and working indoors
4 to 5 hours:  Grasping, sitting
1 to 3 hours:  Bending, kneeling, reaching, standing, twisting, and walking
Less than 1 hour:  Balancing, climbing, crawling, driving, pushing, pulling, working at heights, working in temperature extremes and working outdoors

Less than 10 pounds:  1-10 repetition(s) per hour
10 to 20 pounds: 1-10 repetition(s) per hour
 20-50 pounds:    1-10 repetition(s) per hour
50-100 pounds:  Less than 1 repetition per hour
More than 100 pounds with help:  Less than 1 repetition per hour
 
Additional Physical Requirements:
Vision: Adequate with aid to read instructions, labels, documents, computer screens, and differentiate between colors.
 
Hearing:  Adequate with aid to understand oral requests, telephone conversation, and PA systems.
 
Required Employee Program Safety Training: 
Bloodborne pathogen, Emergency procedures and ergonomics (office/workplace), Hazard communication, and Slips, trips, and falls.
