Metal Worker - Flexible Schedule and Training Provided
Northeast Lantern is currently looking for: Shipper/ Receiver
Immediate Supervisor: Production Manager
Education: High School or General Education Diploma preferred but not necessary. Must have an understanding of basic math and reading a ruler.
Computer Competency Required: Microsoft Office 365, UPS World Ship, FedEx Ship Manager, and common carrier websites.
Specific Job Duties:
· Process incoming and outgoing shipments utilizing current computer software systems; create Bills of Lading and process Purchase Orders
· Ship and receive all fixtures and parts; organize and allocate incoming freight
· Proactively decide shipping method based on specific orders, i.e., via small package carrier or truck
· Packing and boxing of fixtures and parts as needed
· Complete or assist in the monitoring of raw materials inventory
· Complete or assist in the monitoring of completed parts inventory
· Inspect outgoing fixtures and packages to assure quality
· Aid other departments as deemed necessary
· Maintain general cleanliness, complete basic housekeeping tasks, and maintain equipment
Equipment Used: Computer and printer, speedy packer system, paper tape dispenser, tape dispenser, box cutters, fork truck, hand truck, floor pallet jack, pallet strapping tensioners, and basic household hand tools.
Vehicles or moving equipment: Propane forklift, hand dollies, and floor pallet jacks.
Physical Requirements:
· Lifting up to 70 lbs.; standing for long periods of time; performing repetitive motions
· Must be able to distinguish between different colors of metals
Adaptability, patience, and the ability to multi-task are a must!
Northeast Lantern was established in 1987. Skip Heal was a young artisan and had a vision of opening his own shop to produce quality solid brass and copper lighting fixtures. Currently, Northeast Lantern has over 30 skilled employees. Each of them brings their own unique talent when it comes to building a fixture. Skip has passed his commitment to product quality and his commitment to customer service to his son, Chris. Together, they strive to better the business for both the customer and the employees.

Our hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 6:00am-3:30pm; Friday 6:00-2:30pm; full time employees are expected to work a 40-hour/week schedule of their choosing during shop hours. Weekly hours are prorated for part time employees.
