What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Development Associate - Clinical position at Northeast OB/GYN Associates?

  • Must have knowledge/background in OB/GYN.
  • Develops, implements, and coordinates new hire training including general orientation and on-the-job training.
  • Coordinates the NEOB clinical training program. Receives training program applications/questionnaires and ensures appropriate designated trainers are selected. Ensures all designated trainers are trained and prepared to assist new hires with the onboarding process. Measures training program effectiveness and addresses any deficiencies or gaps identified.
  • Assists with formulating clinical teaching outline and determines instructional methods such as peer-to-peer, training program, individual training, group instruction, in-services, demonstrations, meetings and workshops are developed and delivered. Selects or develops teaching aides such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials and reference works. Develops and maintains ongoing and continual education support materials to assist medical office employees. Uses training materials for reference. Keeps informed of any procedural or process changes that may impact established training, collaborating with other departmental employees to make these changes effectively.
  • Conducts training needs analysis to ensure clinical training needs are addressed. Develops and coordinates programs to match these needs, and/or identifies and contacts training resources to provide the training.
  • Assist HR Director with developing the annual training schedule, which includes new hire, clinical, annual in-services, OSHA and leadership training. Formulates announcements and postings to promote training opportunities for all NEOB employees.
  • Travels to medical offices to assist designated trainers with the training of new hires.
  • Consults with management, medical office employees, and Human Resources to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training, and to better understand how changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies affect work situations. Reports findings to HR Director and works collaboratively with HR Department to develop a strategy for addressing how change will impact the work environment. Develops strong relationships with all NEOB managers to understand the clinical training needs of their office.
  • Understands, develops, and interprets training effectiveness measures. Shares measures with managers, COO, and Human Resources, and informs progress of new employees under guidance during training periods. Assists employees with problems concerning “how to” perform specific tasks related to their position. Continually evaluates procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and updates curriculum as needed. Reports clinical training program effectiveness at management meetings, as requested.
  • Maintains and administers annual in-services and electronic training (HRIS, MedTrainer, and other electronic training methods). Assigns training modules to staff. Keeps managers informed on electronic training attendance by emailing monthly reports or ensuring managers pull reports. Informs Human Resources of employees who have not completed their monthly training. Trouble shoots electronic training malfunctions or problems and contacts training resource representative to address the problem.
  • Verifies certifications/licenses for new hires, Enters certification/license information in MedTrainer/HRIS to track expiration dates, communicating with managers as to who is up-to-date or overdue. Ensures new staff hired without certifications obtain them within the agreed upon timeframe. Ensures employees are notified in advance when their certification/license will expire. Updates tracking log once certifications/license are renewed.
  • Assists COO and QA with auditing medical offices to ensure OSHA materials are updated and OSHA requirements are met. Ensures Administrative Office is complying with safety/OSHA requirements.
  • Complies with attendance/tardiness standards. Arrives to work when scheduled and demonstrates consistent attendance. Contacts supervisor on a timely basis when they will be late or absent.
  • Assess, train, retrain, and develop staff in patient case management in the following but not limited to: Assessing patient physical and mental wellness, needs, preferences and abilities and using these to develop tailored care plans – assess, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the options and services required to meet the patients’ health and human services needs. Facilitates clinically appropriate and fiscally responsible patient care through communication with the treating physicians, and all other members of the health care team.

Experience

  • 5 year(s): Clinical experience in OB/GYN setting preferred

Education

  • Bachelors or better in Health Administration or related field
