Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons offices are seeking a highly motivated full time optician to join our dynamic & growing team in our optical department. The candidate should have the flexibility to travel to all Midwest Vision Partner Platforms in Akron, Wadsworth, Kent, Stow, & Medina.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
As an Optician you will sell, fit and dispense eye wear to patients. Our Opticians help customers look and see their best. In this role you will:
- Evaluate customer’s prescriptions and visual requirements
- Determine customer’s current lens prescriptions, when necessary, using lensometer or lens analyzers and customer’s eyeglasses
- Measure clients' bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers of eyes using measuring devices
- Assist clients in selecting frames according to style and color and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions
- Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit client needs
- Heat, shape or bend plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit clients using pliers and hands
- Instruct customers how to wear and care for eyeglasses
- Show customers how to insert, remove and care for contact lenses
- Verify that finished lenses are ground to specifications
- Maintain records of customer prescriptions, work orders and payments
- Order and purchase frames and lenses
- Track inventory and sales
- Exhibit knowledge of vision insurance & proper use of computer software
- Work within the optical billing system on entering charges
- Performs general office duties and other duties as assigned
Minimum Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience working in customer service
- Excellent verbal communication skills

Minimum Experience Requirements:
·· American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO) or National Contact Lens Examiner (NCLE) certification
- Knowledge of optical goods and services
However, we are willing to train the right motivated candidate with a successful sales background. (Licensure renewals and ABO certifications covered by practice).
- Strong background in sales and customer service is a must
