About the Opportunity JOB SUMMARY The Associate Vice Chancellor for Learning Ecosystem & Improvement will work with the Senior Vice Chancellor to enrich the educational experience at Northeastern University. To achieve this, the AVC will have integrative oversight over the strategy development for new approaches to key areas within the Education Innovation unit. As a result of this oversight of integration and improvement, the AVC will facilitate partnerships with colleagues across the higher education industry to create linkages between new innovations in the field and existing internal practices. The AVC will be responsible for driving the overall efficiency of the organization. To achieve this, the ACV will design systems and improve processes to support the Senior Vice Chancellor and the Education Innovation unit to deliver on their goals and priorities. Responsibilities include: |Develop and update mission, goals and strategic plan for the institutional implementation of Education Innovation programs and innovations; |Establish a networked continuous improvement area on experiential learning that works across the university. |Drive executional excellence across the Education Innovation leadership team. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Proficiency leading centers, organizations or teams with clear outcomes as well in strategic planning and the use of systems thinking for problem solving |Demonstrated ability to establish and pursue a successful innovation agenda |Strong communication skills with the ability to write, speak, and present effectively to a wide variety of audiences including executives |Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to use sound judgment to make decisions and resolve problems diplomatically |Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to plan and successfully implement multiple projects with conflicting priorities and concurrent deadlines in a dynamic environment |Ability to forge collaborative relationships with peers and to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders at various organizational levels. |Knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired through a master’s degree at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role in higher education KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES 1) Build and coordinate a networked continuous improvement area within the unit that works across the university and supports the emerging strategic plan for experiential and lifelong learning. 2) Lead, engage, motivate and communicate employees. Actively support a positive team culture. • Provide an effective process for performance management and development that provides measurable goals, clear expectations and solid direction to each team member. • Address unsatisfactory employee performance including developing, delivering and monitoring performance improvement plans. · Plan, organize resources, assign and delegate activities and measure results to achieve organization’s expectations. · Review staffing needs including developing job descriptions and recruitment plans. Lead the selection and onboarding process. 3) In collaboration with Education Innovation teams and colleges, establish and design next generation approaches and ensure communication.
