POSITION SUMMARY
Leads development of Aircraft Maintenance Employee Handbook to establish Company policies and procedures relating seniority-based work rules and protocols.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads discussions with Maintenance and Human Resources in the development of Aircraft Maintenance Employee Handbook to address policies and procedures relating to seniority-based workplace rules performed by all shifts and locations under Northern Air Cargo and Aloha Air Cargo
  • Engaged servant leader that fosters a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment
  • Devoted champion of continuous improvement, 5S, and Lean
  • Coordinates with various leaders, especially Directors of Maintenance and Quality Control at NAC and AAC on development of said handbook

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a mechanic certificate with airframe and powerplant ratings.
  • Have 5 years of experience in a position responsible for returning airplanes to service.
  • Need at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity maintaining the same category and class of airplane as the Company uses.
  • Strongly prefer supervisory experience in full cycle of responsibilities including hiring, training, staff development, progressive discipline, and terminations.
  • Need strong leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to coach and mentor team as well as foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish positive, collaborative relationships across departments/operating companies and work cooperatively to solve problems
  • Ability to rapidly acquire/analyze information and make well-reasoned decisions.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening, background check and receive TSA clearance to work in secure area.

LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Positions at this level have a high level of communication with company leadership, varied internal stakeholders, staff, regulators, external stakeholders, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to give clear written and oral instructions to team members, vendors or other stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports, procedures manuals, correspondence and other related materials.
  • Requires ability to respond effectively verbally and in writing to inquiries from regulators.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office is inside maintenance hangar directly adjacent to space where aircraft maintenance work is performed.
  • May be exposed to noise, adverse weather conditions (extreme cold or heat), fumes, wet surfaces, and icy conditions.
  • This position primarily works in the office, but will spend time in the hangar, outdoor airline ramp, etc.

PHYSICAL EFFORT

  • The employee is regularly required to sit and sometimes stand.
  • The employee will need to see (including close vision), speak and hear.
  • Manual dexterity is required for input into or manipulation of spreadsheets, composing composition and reports, etc.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
