Northern Aviation Cargo (NAC) is excited to open the opportunity for a Engineer II to join our team on location or in a remote option. This position is open to supplemental applicants to work 30 hours or less per week.
POSITION SUMMARY
Assist the Director of Engineering and Director Maintenance in monitoring, reviewing, and coordinating compliance and recording of airworthiness directives, major modification and/or alterations, instructions for continued airworthiness requirements, engineering orders and service bulletins. Provide engineering data needed for repairs and modification/alterations. Assist in the acquisition of new aircraft to the Company fleet. Aid in developing, preparing, and revising and approving technical documentation and Company manuals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare documents such as, but not limited to, engineering orders, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, major modification, and/or alterations ICA's and maintenance forms
- Assist with preparation of Bridging/Transition document for new aircraft acquisitions
- Provide engineering support to Maintenance Control and/or line maintenance
- Review, evaluate, and coordinate cumulation of technical requirements with Quality Assurance Analyst among the respective maintenance principles for review
- FAA, ADs, NPRM and final rules - to establish applicability, method of compliance, initiate EO, fleet inspection or incorporate changes in maintenance programs and manuals. Initiate AD compliance flow to disseminate compliance criteria of the airworthiness directive.
- Vendor and OEM service bulletins, service letters, Structural item interim advisory notices, Boeing and industry discussion forums and fleet team digest.
- Major repairs and modifications/alterations instructions for continued airworthiness.
- Interface with the FAA on behalf of NAC and AAC at the ACO and other functional groups
- Provide input to the Director of Maintenance (DOM) and the Director of Quality (DOQ) on procedures in involving FAA Regulation compliance
- Provide Engineering data; EOs, Drawings and Substantiating documents for DER approval.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's Degree or State/Provincial Licensure in Engineering or Physical Science or equivalent experience
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of supervisors, managers, or outside agencies.
- Ability to read and write reports and business correspondence in English.
- Preferred: Experience in NPV analysis and project cost estimation.
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Word and Excel program.
- Preferred: Drawing programs AutoCAD, Solid Works or equivalent
- Ability to recognize, understand and create Microsoft Excel formulas preferred.
- Must have a good general knowledge of FAA CFR 14, Part 91 & 121 rules
- Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings and wire diagrams
- Aircraft engineering experience on 737 or 767 preferred
- Airframe and Powerplant license preferred
- Company will train on specific safety and maintenance program

- Ability to write reports, procedures manuals, correspondence, and other related materials
- Requires ability to respond effectively verbally and in writing to inquiries from regulators
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- May be exposed to noise, adverse weather conditions (extreme cold or heat), fumes, wet surfaces, and icy conditions
- This position primarily works in the office, but will spend time in the hangar, outdoor airline ramp, etc.
- Domestic and international travel may be required
PHYSICAL EFFORT
- The employee is regularly required to sit and sometimes stand
- The employee will need to see (including close vision), speak, and hear
- Manual dexterity is required for input into or manipulation of spreadsheets, composing composition and reports, etc.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
