What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Hygienist position at Northern Analytical Services LLC?
We are seeking a project manager to help oversee our asbestos inspection and air monitoring projects. Our industrial hygienists perform site inspections, conduct indoor air quality investigations, and oversee environmental remediation efforts primarily related to asbestos and lead paint. A project manager will oversee these activities and assist as needed when workloads are high.
Key responsibilities as a project manager will include:
- Client relationships.
- Field investigation oversight.
- Remediation design.
- Project budget.
- Perform field work as needed.
As a project manager it will be your responsibility to ensure each of the projects assigned to you are being completed in accordance with our client's needs. This will require daily review of field reports, daily telephone conversations with each hygienist, and travel to multiple job sites each week as necessary. Most of our job sites are within an hour or two drive of central Michigan.
A typical day for a project manager would look like this:
- Telephone check in with each hygienist to ensure their project is off to a good start for the day. Go over daily plan and goals for each.
- Check emails and provide daily update to clients and upper management as requested.
- Schedule meetings as needed.
- Review previous day's field reports provided by each hygienist, follow up with any questions or issues.
- Travel to project sites as needed for meetings (1-5 day trips per week).
- Prepare reports for recently completed projects and remediation plans for upcoming projects.
- Telephone check in with each hygienist at the end of the day to see how the day went and if goals were met.
- Review plans for the following day/week/month for scheduling purposes.
From time to time our work load will require the project manager to self perform field activities, this tyipacly happends for a couple of weeks in June and randomly througout the year.
Required qualifications include:
- 4 or more years of asbestos related testing/consulting experience.
- Asbestos Building Inspector Accreditation.
- NIOSH 582 certificate.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Ability to represent our company in a professional and ethical manner.
- Work well with contractors to resolve issues.
- Ability to work independently.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Our office is located in Big Rapids, Michigan but this postion will allow for a remote work location. Rather than reporting to our office, this positoin will work from home when they are not needed on a project site. We will consider canidates from all parts of the State.
