Purpose of Position
The Coordinator position in the Office of Student Financial Assistance will provide advice to students and parents on the availability of federal, state, and institutional aid programs. This includes assisting students from the application process to the delivery of aid.

This position will also work with University offices to resolve student issues while delivering exceptional service to students, parents, and the University community. This position presents financial aid information to small and large groups varying in size from approximately 10 to 300. This position also supervises the client service area and monitors the ongoing needs of students and parents.
Primary Responsibilities
The following are primary responsibilities:
1. Deliver exceptional student service in person, on the telephone, and via email to support all students (face-to-face and online)
2. Serve as the lead point of contact for state grant programs and tuition waivers (review, reconcile, and process aid)
3. Provides leadership and program management over an assigned area of specialty. Specialization assignments may include Supervise Phone Agents, including the hiring, training, and supervision of this group.
4. Monitor and respond to telephone and email activity.
5. Present financial aid information to small and large groups to support recruitment initiatives at on and off-campus events
6. Interpret and adhere to federal, state, and institutional financial aid rules and regulations
7. Process dependency appeals, professional judgment and budget adjustments
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in financial aid or a related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Applicants must possess high levels of organizational, and customer services skills, and a seamless ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Excellent verbal (via telephone and presentations) and non-verbal (via email and customer services correspondences) communication skills are necessary.

Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with many different personalities.

Must have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multi-task successfully within multiple deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and work as part of a team.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
