Position Summary
The Training Specialist delivers training programs on various subjects at Northrim Bank to improve employees’ overall customer service skills and productivity. Duties include providing administrative, clerical and technical support to the department.
The following duties are intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities and ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Organize and effectively conduct employee training on various skill, policy, and compliance areas.
- Maintain Northrim Bank’s Learning Management System.
- Review existing/proposed programs and end user training materials. Suggest and implement suitable changes.
- Assist maintaining internal department materials such as style guides and cross reference documents.
- Facilitate delivery of training by reserving and setting up needed audiovisual equipment and training rooms; scheduling training times with attendees; preparing and distributing training aids such as handouts.
- Maintain Training Department Portal and Department Team Site.
- Assist in the maintenance of procedures for departments.
- Administer, score, and log results of qualification, learning assessment, and retention tests. Arrange retraining or other appropriate action for insufficient scores.
- Complete online, written and in-person compliance training within established timeframes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience
-
Four years of related work experience to include:
- Two years of financial institution experience.
- Related military education/experience may be used as a substitute for education or work experience.
Knowledge & Communication Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
- Ability to analyze banking and customer documents and reports.
- Must understand and have the ability to implement applicable compliance requirements.
Analytical & Decision Making Skills
- Ability to balance and prioritize several projects simultaneously. Set priorities and complete work assignments with minimal manager input
- Quickly understand and resolve unique situations, questions or issues. Must be able to present difficult concepts, in a timely manner, to employees and management in group and/or individual settings and ensure comprehension.
Computer/Software/Other Equipment Skills
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to operate standard office equipment such as PC, printer, fax/copier, and telephone.
Working Conditions
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Work is performed in a professional office environment.
