Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Network Communications (Level 3) to join our diverse team of professionals located at Beale AFB , CA.

The Network Communication Subject Matter Expert (SME) will maintain smooth operation of Information System Hardware and Software. They will plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of several integrated and specialized information systems. They will maintain technical expertise in all areas of information systems hardware/software, radio frequency and SATCOM communications systems, and interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings. Prepares documentation or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including maintenance documentation and instructions. Provides regular monitoring and analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems. Ensures secure movement of information across a multi-classification level computing environment. May coordinate third-party maintenance for equipment. Supports integration and provides engineering feedback on effectiveness of system upgrades and modifications. May design systems or portions of systems that include selection of hardware and software packages.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree and at least 5 years of Network Communications and/or Administration experience; Masters and 3 years for relevant experience; PhD with zero years for relevant experience. In lieu of formal education, High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least 9 years of relevant job experience.

• Must possess or personally obtain Security Plus (Sec ) Certification within 6 months of hire.

• Must be able to complete initial qualification training within 365 days from program access and show continuous progress throughout the training program.

• Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.

• Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days- a-week, and 365 days a year.

• Must meet medical requirements for worldwide travel. Must have and maintain a valid U.S. passport, accept customer furnished quarters for a period up to 90 days away from primary work location and comply with mobility requirements to include required immunizations and vaccinations.

• Must possess an active DoD Top Secret security clearance and be able to maintain

• ability to obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission.

• Flight experience and familiarity with commercial mission planning software.

• Quality Assurance or performing quality reviews of technical publications or training documents.
