Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Dimension Control Technician (DCT) 1 or 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Iuka, MS where technology and teamwork come together.

***This position does not have the option to work remote and requires the chosen candidate to work on-site in Iuka, MS.***

In this role your responsibilities may include:

  • Laying out, fabricating, and assembling metalworking dies, molds, and machine tool fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches, models, and engineering or shop specifications.
  • Using a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Computing dimensions; determining machining and material or parts required.
  • Performing precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
  • Recommending revisions in design and/or substitutions in material based on machinability or fabrication problems encountered; and solving problems relating to unusual materials.
  • Work-holding arrangements, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production process.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at a Dimension Control Technician 1/2 level based on the qualifications below.

Dimension Control Technician 1

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Must have the ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work inside and outside in a warehouse / shop floor environment
  • Ability to handle and assemble small parts and machinery.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Access Program within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Dimension Control Technician 2

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Must have the ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work inside and outside in a warehouse / shop floor environment
  • Ability to handle and assemble small parts and machinery.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Access Program within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree with knowledge of laser tracking with assembly tools in an aircraft manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate and be certified on motor vehicles such as forklift and overhead crane (Northrop Grumman provided training)
  • Tool and Die or related experience
  • Knowledge of Metrology Processes including setting details with a laser tracker.
  • Creating working build models in software products in BuildIT or Verisuf
  • Experience with utilizing Siemens NX/CATIA CAD tools or applicable 3D CAD systems

Salary Range: $38,900 USD - $64,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $46,300 USD - $77,100 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
