Northrop Grumman, Propulsion Systems, is currently seeking an Instructional Designer to join our Technical Training Team and support Propulsion Systems employees working at our Freeport Center and Promontory locations in Clearfield and Promontory, Utah.
Role description & Responsibilities:
The Instructional Designer will consult with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify performance gaps, learning needs, and create eLearning courses and in-classroom training programs to optimize learning and meet learning objectives.
The Instructional Designer will also be responsible for reviewing existing training content to maintain current and optimize the learning process, as well as track progress of course material to ensure it is meeting established learning objectives.
All company training is stored, assigned, and tracked using Northrop Grumman’s company LMS, which is Cornerstone’s SABA. Previous experience with LMS administration is useful.
Required Skills
SCORM authoring tool experience, preferably using Lectora, Storyline, or Articulate
Thorough understanding of education and learning theory and processes
Effective application of current industry best practices and instructional design methodologies
Strong sense of visual graphics – proportion, color, and continuity of theme
Ability to effectively conduct learning needs analysis, identify learning objectives, and craft learning experiences that help learners engage in the learning process
Skills in creating engaging instructional materials, including eLearning and in-classroom content, curriculum, user guides, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people at all levels of the organization
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to obtain results by working cross-functionally with people of various backgrounds
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
Proficient with MS Office 365 applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.)
Education/Certifications
BS degree with two (2) years of related experience or MS degree; degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related discipline.
Position may be filled at a higher level requiring 5 years related experience with BS or 3 years related experience with MS.
This position reports to Corinne, UT, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Clearfield, UT, UT, USA.
