The Advanced Concepts and Technologies group of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Semiconductor Manufacturing Engineer for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. Northrop Grumman's ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Job Duties:
- Responsible for all semiconductor manufacturing operations aspects of all programs to ensure mission success
- Develops, modifies, applies and maintains manufacturing systems and protocols for processing materials
- Collaborates with all engineering disciplines to ensure efficient production of the highest quality product
- Devises and implements methods and procedures for semiconductor manufacturing, inspecting and production equipment
- Analyzes semiconductor manufacturing processes, mechanisms and equipment for efficiency and utilization
- Performs statistical analysis to assess the performance of equipment, processes and functions to reduce cycle times
- Determines area of possible improvement and documents all required actions to improve the process
- Collaborate with fab technicians to answer any questions and solve technical issues in real time
- Coordinate with all supporting functional areas in order to determine the best solution for the product to maintain the highest levels of quality
- Conduct briefings and technical meetings for management and customer representatives
The Semiconductor Manufacturing Engineer should have a demonstrated track record of working and communicating with upper management/customer representative as well as be a self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervisor oversight.
This position is a Dual Band Position. Candidates will be considered at both Levels 2 and 3 per the requirements listed below.
Basic Qualifications for Level 2:
- Bachelor of Science in Operations/Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Engineering or any related STEM degree w/2 years relevant industry experience or M.S. in Engineering with a minimum of 0 years relevant industry experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment in an engineering or operations capacity
- Knowledge and familiarity of AS9100 or similar external compliance audit certification
- Process creation and compliance experience
- Proven ability to deliver process improvements
- U.S. Citizenship
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US. Secret Clearance
Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
- Bachelor of Science in Operations/Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Engineering or any related STEM degree w/5 years relevant industry experience or M.S. in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment in an engineering or operations capacity
- Knowledge and familiarity of AS9100 or similar external compliance audit certification
- Process creation and compliance experience
- Proven ability to deliver process improvements
- U.S. Citizenship
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US. Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Green belt certified
- Experience dispositioning of non-conforming material, work plan review, manufacturing readiness review, and root cause/corrective action analysis
- Gauge R&R working knowledge
- 5S experience
- Experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes
Salary Range: $81,000.00 - $121,600.00Salary Range 2: $99,800.00 - $149,800.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
