Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is looking for a Sr Principal Network Engineer in Huntsville, AL.
Candidate must be able to:
Design and plan tactically deployed network communications systems
Design and develop specifications and detailed schematics for numerous network architectures
Conduct testing and analysis of network designs
Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networking such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
Travel to test events, some being in austere government test-range environments, for periods not longer than 2 weeks in duration, 2-3 times per year
Hold or obtain a Secret clearance
Hold Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II or III certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or CompTIA Security certification
Experience with network test gear to resolve technical issues at all layers of OSI model
Experience configuring routers for EIGRP, OSPF, IP Multicast Protocols
Experience with CISCO IOS
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline with at least 9 years of network management, administration, and connectivity experience.

Master's Degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience
-OR-
PhD with at least 4 years of relevant experience
-OR-
Equivalent commercial or military training, certifications, and 13 years of network management, administration, and connectivity experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in developing networks from design through implementation
Experience configuring and maintaining Multicast networking
Experience with mentoring and training early career network engineers
Experience working face-to-face with U.S. government customers
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
CCNA / CCNP
Salary Range: $107,000 - $160,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
