This part-time position (30 hrs; Sun-Thurs) is an exciting opportunity to provide event and facility support to a growing church on Seattle’s Eastside. You would bring attention to the facility’s cleanliness, as well as, repairing and maintaining the building. As the Northshore Facilities Department, we desire to create and foster a clean, orderly, and guest-friendly environment for all who walk through our doors. Through the outward expression of an excellently maintained building we strive to provide an atmosphere that lets everyone know Jesus can change everything for anyone.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
Maintain the Interior/Exterior of the Facility
- Upkeep the facility through light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks
- Monitor and complete submitted work orders
- Assist with the retrieval of resources and equipment across the campus
- Develop a working knowledge of materials, tools and equipment needed to maintain the grounds and facility
Event Support
- Follow written or drawn instructions for room setup requests
- Move and arrange tables, chairs, and other requested resources
- Vacuum, empty trash, sweep, mop, dust, and clean rooms
- Help maintain landscaping and grounds
- Aid event personnel and room users
- Arm security alarm and lock all gates, doors, and windows to secure the building for closure
- Perform any other maintenance/event support duties as assigned by the Pastor of Spaces and Places
WHAT YOU BRING
- High school graduate
- Detail-oriented
- Strong communication skills, proficient in written and spoken English
- Some knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry is helpful but not required
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to work efficiently and productively without direct supervision
- Ability to focus on and follow routine work effectively
- Ability to follow room setup procedures and diagrams
- Ability to consistently lift and carry heavy objects (25 lbs.)
- Ability to function effectively as a team member to accomplish desired results
- Willingness to attend and become a member at Northshore Community Church, if not already
