Job Posting– OBGYN Health Disparities Research Manager for PCORI Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Study Position Overview This position will serve as a Project Manager for a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research project that examines the effectiveness of a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor intervention to reduce disparities in breastfeeding at two NorthShore birthing hospitals. This position works closely with the investigative team/PIs and manages 2 Research Coordinators and 2 Research Assistants. Oversees day-to-day operations including identifying & securing needed resources; creating, implementing, monitoring, & updating project plans; facilitating meetings with appropriate parties; tracking tasks/deliverables to ensure timelines, milestones &/or goals are attained; monitoring & reporting progress as appropriate; managing budgets & resolving or escalating issues in a timely manner. Coordinates writing, submission & administration of grants and may co-author scientific papers for presentation & publication. Ensures that collaborative activities are completed by strictly following institutional and funding organizations' best practices. The position sits within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology located at NorthShore Evanston Hospital in Evanston, IL. This is a full-time position and is benefits-eligible. Hours will be scheduled 8a to 4:30p Monday through Friday. Regular local travel is required. Will spend time at Evanston, Swedish and Highland Park Hospitals with flexibility for remote work. · Full Time/Part Time: Full Time · Hours: Monday-Friday, 8a-4:30p · Required Trave l: Yes What you will need: - Education: Master’s degree or higher required. - Experience: 3-5 years of program coordination experience and 2 years of quality improvement experience required Qualifications Our ideal candidate will have: · Bachelor’s degree required, Masters or greater preferred · Strong people skills r · Excellent organization, time management, problem-solving and communication (both written and verbal) skills · Experience in a research environment required, research coordination experience strongly preferred · Data management experience · Bilingual Spanish-English speaking strongly preferred - Ability to work collaboratively and independently and interact in a professional and sensitive manner with medical personnel, collaborating partners, and other project staff - Ability to set priorities for various responsibilities and to meet deadlines under pressure - Experience with information systems and personal computers, including knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, REDCap, and website content management - Ability to plan new programs/initiatives and maintain existing programs/initiatives - Familiarity with budgets and grant submissions is strongly preferred Responsibilities In this role, you will: - Oversee research and engagement activities for a randomized control trial of breastfeeding peer counseling (BPC) taking place at NorthShore, Swedish and Highland Park Hospitals - Assist with the development of study documents and submission/reporting to the Institutional Review Board - Manage daily research activities at both randomization sites in collaboration with two Research Assistants, two Research Coordinators, and a multi-site study team - Manage a team of research assistants, coordinators, and interns: - Works with HR to hire and onboard new staff and assists with training of new staff - Tracks performance, completes performance reviews, and provides regular feedback. - Coordinate regular meetings and communications with community stakeholders, investigators, patient representatives, and clinical team members engaged in the project - Maintain communication with research team members across multiple sites - Manage patient tracking and study activities in a study database - Enter data into electronic databases; manipulate resulting data and present it in a variety of ways and creating reports of study progress - Maintain organized and detailed records of all study activities - Manage and maintain study financials - Perform scientific literature searches as required - Support abstracts, presentations, and publications - Assist with the preparation of reports and the conduct of study audits NorthShore University HealthSystem NorthShore University HealthSystem/Edward Elmhurst (NorthShore-EEH) is a comprehensive, fully integrated, healthcare delivery system that serves the greater North Shore and Illinois communities.
