Coordinates clinical pharmacy services to ensure pharmacy team provides optimal clinical services on a daily basis. Facilitates development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through use of safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies.
Job Responsibility
- Promotes Specialty Pharmacy department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
- Leads the activities of assigned Specialty Pharmacy team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
- Oversees development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical pharmacy services according to established policies, procedures, and protocols, consistent with government and agency regulations, and in collaboration with organizational goals and objectives.
- Selects, develops, manages and evaluates direct reports; collaborates with management team members in selection, development, management and evaluation of indirect reports including pharmacy residents and students, where applicable.
- Participates in quality improvement activities of department; collects and analyzes data; maintains documentation of clinical activities.
- Facilitates development and implementation of treatment guidelines, protocols, formulary changes, and critical pathways as approved by appropriate committees.
- Participates in committees required by organization, and collaborates with other departments to identify needs of the organization and scope of pharmaceutical services required to meet those needs.
- Identifies and resolves barriers to medication access (e.g. prior authorizations, financial patient assistance programs).
- Documents clinical interventions in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Maintains compliance with established procedures, policies, and laws in performing duties of a licensed, registered staff pharmacist.
- Plans and coordinates daily operations workflow; evaluates and implements workflow changes to ensure smooth operations.

Job Qualification
- Bachelor of Pharmacy required.
- Current License to practice as a Pharmacist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
- 4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $105,400.04-$183,000.09/year
