Full time, Days and Evenings, Weekend as needed
Reporting to the Wellness Center Director, is responsible to lead, organize and oversee the childcare department and associates who provide care for children of the Wellness Center Members in a safe, friendly and caring environment.
1. Coordinates, schedules, trains, develops, participates in performance management and supervises staff of WC Childcare Associates to provide high quality, safe and caring childcare services for children 6 months to 13 years of age.
2. Prepares annual department budget, secures payments from parents, and recommends equipment purchases to the Wellness Center Director that will improve the children’s experience and safety.
3. Coordinates operations of the department to meet or exceed annual budget expectations for the childcare department.
4. Develops, delivers, enhances, and evaluates age-appropriate activities and programs to create an engaging and enriching environment for children.
5. Demonstrates effective childcare and customer service skills at all times. Demonstrates an ability to establish childcare standards. Demonstrates a commitment and an ability to continuously improve customer and childcare service and coordinate others to do so.
6. Receives parents’ feedback or through staff, concerns and questions related to child care services. Follows-up as needed.
7. Enforces the Center's child care policies to ensure a safe environment for all children.
8. Accommodates personal schedule as it relates to department operating needs, center hours and work schedules.
9. Meets and maintains all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties.
10. Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
1. Bachelor’s degree required with coursework in childhood education, elementary education or related field preferred.
2. Minimum 2 years of childcare or teaching experience in a professional setting required. Prior childcare services management experience preferred.
3. CPR/AED certification through the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
4. The interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with children 6 months to 13 years of age, families and other hospital staff members.
5. The organizational skills necessary to supervise, schedule and direct staff.
6. The organizational skills necessary to develop and implement age-appropriate child activities and secure the required supplies and materials.
7. The business skills necessary to develop and maintain budgets, track payments and monitor expenses.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Requires moderate physical effort with continuous standing or walking. May require frequent lifting or moving of light weight material, occasional moving or lifting of average weight material, or rarely lifting or moving of heavy weight material.
2. Flow of work and character of duties involves part normal and part concentrated attention.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Good working conditions. Seldom exposed to disagreeable working conditions or hazards. Probability of injury is unlikely. Injuries would be of a first-aid nature.
