Job Description
Northwest Houston Neurology is looking to add a medical assistant to our team.
We take pride in our patient services and are looking for someone that can uphold these standards. This position can be very fast paced. We are looking for someone that works well under pressure, has a team player mentality, a high attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
The medical assistant is responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient operations of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Obtain patient vitals and rooming patients
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Pre-Register patients for appointments
- Update medical records
- Process orders, referrals and treatment plans
- Assist during medical examinations and telemedicine visits
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Any other clinical or administrative duties as needed
Skills
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office, EMRs and able to quickly learn and adapt to using other programs
Work Setting & Location:
Private Practice. This medical assistant will work alongside one specific physician and will travel between our Tomball and Cypress locations. The hours will vary but are mostly Monday -Thursday 8AM to 5PM and Friday 8AM to 3PM.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
