Position Overview:
The Estimator prepares estimates and concise descriptions of electrical and non-electrical signage including exterior signage, interior signage, channel letters, wayfinding, environmental graphics, monuments and other forms of visual art and custom displays. This individual is a self-starter and shows amazing attention to detail. The Estimator prepares estimates and quotes from information provided by our sales team, project managers, and clients. That information may come from client supplied ideas, or an internally developed sign program.
This position works with members of the design department, sales, sales support, project management, fabrication, and others to complete the vision and mission of the company as well as provide outstanding customer service. Responsibilities:
1. Generate estimates for all sign types including but not limited to Channel letters, monuments, blade signs, pylon signs, illuminated, non-illuminated, and wayfinding.
2. Use of ERP system for a variety of daily tasks including data entry and workload management.
3. Prepares pre-estimate takeoffs using provided construction plans and specifications or design documents. [GS1] _
4. Create or collaboratively find best practice solutions and value engineered options if needed while maintaining design intent.
5. Be accountable to team, budget, and schedule while upholding the highest design standards.
6. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
7. Maintains contact and relationships with private individuals and other organizations who are used as subcontractors.
8. Generates accurate and detailed estimates, budgets, rough orders of magnitude (ROM), and change orders,
9. Presents prepared estimates by assembling detailed estimates, budgets, and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
10. Contributes to team efforts by helping accomplish all department and company goals/tasks.
11. Work towards maintaining minimal variance between projected and actual costs to assure accurate margins.
12. Ensure bid packages with all notes and associated files are well organized and located in the correct folders on the company server.
13. Locate and vet new subcontractors as needed.
Document all disclaimers, exclusions and clarifications related to the bid.
14. Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
Required qualifications:
- 1 years of experience in the sign or contstruction industry.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills that work well in an interdisciplinary, fast-paced environment
- Strong presentation skills; Written and verbal presentation skills are an advantage
- Experience with planning, documentation, and management of environmental graphics, wayfinding and signage projects
- Expertise in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with architectural construction documents.
- Knowledge of fabrication methods and materials.
Environment and/or Physical Factors:
- Office setting with business casual attire.
- Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
- The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time
- May be required to attend staff meeting and presentation meeting with customers/clients.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience using Bluebeam and Microsoft office.
- Knowledge of electrical signage design, fabrication, installation, and general construction practices.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.50 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
