Veterinary Technician

Northwest Veterinary Clinic
Petersburg, FL Full Time
POSTED ON 4/11/2024 CLOSED ON 5/10/2024

What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at Northwest Veterinary Clinic?

We are looking for an experienced technician or CVT for a small but busy, small animal practice.

What we need:
  • Someone who has practical knowledge and experience (ideally 3 years or more) with every aspect of veterinary medicine, from exam room and patient handling to surgical induction and intubation.
  • Someone proficient at phlebotomy, urine, fecal, and ear swab analysis, medication dispensing, SQ, IM, IV injections, IV catheter placement, positioning for digital and dental radiology, dental prophylaxis, and surgical assistance and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Assisting surgery, anesthesia monitoring, and performing dental prophylaxis are especially important.

What we offer:
Competitive compensation, no weekends (we are only open M-F), 4 1/2 day workweek, 2-hour lunch break, health insurance stipend to cover premiums, paid vacation, and paid sick leave. (PTO and insurance stipend phased in after 3 months). Uniform allowance and the occasional field trip/team building spa day. And a small but busy work environment of professional colleagues who truly value each other and the patients we care for.

While we understand new hires will need some time to acclimate to new surroundings and protocols, we need you to have a few things from Day 1: Time management skills, a strong work ethic, and reliability. Because of our small size, we need team members who can rely upon one another to help the team succeed.

This is a perfect position for someone with years of experience in the veterinary field seeking a better work/life balance.
