- JOB SUMMARY:
- The Accreditation Specialist RN coordinates and has oversight of nursing professional practice programs to include, but not limited to, the American Heart Association (AHA) and American Stroke Association (ASA), in conjunction with the Joint Commission Stroke Certification, the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Chest Pain Center (CPC) program, and the Joint Commission Orthopedic Certifications
These certifications and accreditations will support the development, planning, presentation, and evaluation of professional employee education activities for accreditation achievements.
The certifications and accreditations will provide structure for programs to improve patient outcomes and reduce patient risk through clinically proven evidence-based care. Additionally, certifications and accreditations, show an organization’s commitment to continuous performance improvement.
- PREREQUISITES
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing with a current State of Vermont license to practice professional nursing. Bachelor in Nursing (BSN) required; Masters in nursing (MSN) preferred.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience with a minimum of two (2) years leadership. Knowledge and skills to develop adult education programs. Ability to effectively lead meetings. Understanding of performance improvement and outcomes management.
Special Skills: Certified in Basic Life Support required, ACLS is preferred. Additional certifications are recommended in specialty area of practice. Project management experience preferred. Organizational skills a must
