Northwestern Mutual is a fast-growing financial advising firm in Cedar Rapids, IA. We are looking for a Financial Representative to join our team and help our clients achieve their financial goals.

The Financial Representative will be responsible for providing financial advice to individuals and small businesses through on-site and telephone consultations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with their financial needs by providing investment and insurance advice
• Meet with clients at their homes to discuss their needs and answer questions about investment products
• Book and or follow up on appointments in a timely manner
• Follow up with clients who have missed appointments
• Document all interactions with clients, including notes and forms
• Develop a thorough knowledge of each client's financial situation and strive to provide personalized, comprehensive, and timely advice (e.g., on how to manage risk or how to build wealth)
• Recommend strategies for new or ongoing investments based on the client's financial situation and needs
• Advise clients on how to structure their finances so that they can meet their goals (e.g., retirement planning, insurance recommendations, asset management strategies)
• Provide emotional support for individuals during meetings
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager (negotiations, travel, etc.)

Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment depending on individual circumstances
• Experience working with small businesses or individuals with specific financial needs (asset management, insurance, etc.)is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $73,321.82 - $88,301.55 per year
