Responsibilities
Directs and coordinates the administration of the worker's compensation program. Responsible for directing the timely and cost-effective delivery of health care related to disability, urgent and emergency care, work limitations, transitional return to work plans, accommodations and part-time work for WC and non-WC illness and injury. Oversees the investigation and adjustment of WC claims. Reviews the status and merit of claims to determine their dispensation through acceptance, negotiation, or denial. Identifies cases involving high-frequency and high-risk injuries/illnesses and performs ongoing evaluation and treatment plans. Recommends, develops, and implements loss prevention activities based on loss analysis & loss prevention strategies to promote safety practices and reduce loss exposure. Ensures that benefits and payments are provided in an appropriate and timely manner and adhere to all state and local laws and guidelines. Works with insurance broker to help coordinate insurance coverage of Kentucky excess carrier and Indiana WC. Consults with and directs defense attorneys on WC legal issues.
