Responsibilities:
The role of the Pharmacy Technician-Non-certified is to support and assist the Pharmacist in the medication use process. This employee assists in providing safe and efficient medication management/patient care to patients (neonate to geriatric) physicians, employees, and the public. This position requires taking responsibility within appropriate guidelines under the supervision of the pharmacist for medication preparation and distribution duties. The pharmacy technician functions in an environment which requires teamwork and flexibility to provide medications to patients. Responsibilities may include IV admixture, assisting the pharmacist with the dispensing of medication, working with technology, and deliveries of medications.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Pharmacy Technician (State) (KY) - Must obtain Pharmacy Technician (State) (PHT) credential within 30 days of employment if no prior technician experience. Must obtain Pharmacy Technician (State) (PHT) credential at hire if prior experience as a technician.
Desired:
- 1 year experience working in pharmacy.
