POSITION SUMMARY:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Prepares credit approval and underwriting analysis of new, potential, and existing commercial Borrowers with work primarily centered with the Bank’s largest and most complex credits.- Completes annual reviews and line of credit renewals for the Bank’s largest and most complex existing borrowers.
- Makes risk rating and structuring recommendations based on the Bank’s Loan Policy.
- Performs financial statement spreading and analysis. Analyzes subsequent output for positive/negative trends and overall credit quality.
- Demonstrates understanding of tax returns and the purpose for utilization of various schedules.
- Prepares written proposals that summarize the borrowing request, an analysis of the financial condition of the borrower, the adequacy of collateral and the tertiary sources of repayment.
- Conducts routine credit investigations on companies and industries as credit warrants.
- Promotes the best interest of the Bank whenever and wherever possible.
- Performs all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines.
- Assists with training of new Credit Analysts.
- Works with the Commercial Credit Department Manager on additional projects as requested.
- Exhibits regular and punctual attendance.
- Assumes other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in banking, finance, accounting, statistics, or economics-related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in an analyst role supporting the commercial lending function
- CRC designation awarded by the Risk Management Association
- Solid understanding and experience in evaluating and analyzing complex tax returns
- Extensive experience in commercial credit underwriting / analysis
- Completion of a credit training program
- Superior skills in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to think critically
- Motivated, self-starter with ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Works well independently and as a member of the team
Working Conditions:
