JOB DESCRIPTION: Specialist-Webmaster
Description: The Website Administrator will report to the Human Resources Department and Superintendent and will lead all facets of managing the website for the school district.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the Norwich Public Schools websites are secure, functional, visually appealing, user-friendly and consistently updated (on a daily or near daily basis)
- Manage the NPS website and support/update each individual school website
- Create and update website content
- Ensure website is current and user friendly for staff, parents and the community
- Coordinate information between departments
- Ensure cross district continuity with each individual school
- Maintain an updated staff directory in coordination with HR
- Configure web servers
- Upload and update web pages
- Check that hardware and software are functioning correctly
- Crosstrain and collaborate with the Social Media Specialist
- Photograph all student and family events in schools and after school to add to the website and share with social media
- Communicate to news stations and families all weather related and other school cancellations
- Manage School Messenger platform messages to families
- Keep the school community informed of all calendar noteworthy events that pertain to the website (staff appreciation week, anti bullying month, volunteer appreciation day
- Stay current on website design, ensure graphics for website are consistent with NPS logo and all social media sites
- Coordinate with data manager, HR and Registration to add recruitment, retention advertising and employee relations information to the website
- Create and distribute surveys as directed
- Coordinate with the Transportation Director all transportation related content through the First Student Transportation App
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- BA in technology or web design or related field preferred
- Proven experience in Webmaster Management, Website Design or Web Developer field, 2 years experience preferred
- Experience working in schools, preferred
- Advanced Excel and MS Word skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with management and staff

Position is Exempt- 12 months, 8 hours per day with occasional weekend and evening work. May include occasional outdoor work. Occasional local travel is required. Salary range $62,000-$65000
