Nouveau Monde is a Connecticut Magazine and Wine Spectator Best of Award-winning restaurant serving new American cuisine, and we are looking to expand our team.
Responsibilities and Duties - Sommelier
Qualified sommelier is hospitality-focused with a guest-first attitude, and demonstrate the ability to work as a team. Should possess the ability to follow established procedures and protocols for full service/fine-dining restaurants.
The candidate enhances the customer's experience and provide a hands-on, guided approach to assist the customer navigating through the extensive wine list (>750 labels). The sommelier also assists in tracking inventory in our database.
Prior POS knowledge to place and course orders is a must.
Qualifications and Skills
3 years serving experience at a full-service restaurant required with solid wine/beer/spirits knowledge. Please make sure this is highlighted in your resume.
Must have weekend (Friday-Sunday) availability.
Beyond taking the order - own the table and the customer's experience, be detail-oriented and observant of the table's progress and needs
Exhibit a positive and engaging attitude with customers, while following established procedures to maximize the guest's visit - not just an order taker.
Maintain high standard of service during busy times, supporting team members and remain professional.
TIPS certification and Certified Sommelier certificate desired.

Pay: $18.00 - $40.00 per hour
